Adoption Day

Will you be picking up your Puppy or will they be delivered ?

The day on which a puppy goes home is always exciting for their new families and the doodles! Some of our doodle families come from near and far to pick up their puppies while others wait at their local airport for their new "baby" to arrive.  A few puppies have been hand delivered when timing has allowed us to do so.

When you pick up your puppy, we provide families with a Doodle Puppy Pack.

However, if your puppy arrives by air, the blanket and the toy will be alongside the puppy in their kennel. The bag and the documents are normally secured to the top of the kennel.  The air carriers do not permit the puppy's food to travel on the flight. They won't ship food inside the kennel, and it won't pack flat to ride on top. As well, they don't want a bunch of loose puppy kibble distributed about their cargo areas!

Our goal is to help your new family addition to make as smooth of a transition from our home to yours as possible. We are happy to assist your in making the arrangements to help your puppy arrive home whether its by car or by air.

  • Fleece blanket with mommy scent

  • Puppy friendly toy

  • Puppy-sized collar with Matching leash

  • Veterinary health records

The adopting family needs to have the Microchip forms filled out - we frequently do this with the family at our kitchen table, or over the phone. The key is to get it filled out so that the puppy would be identifiable when scanned. Your contact information will be added to the documents.

PLEASE NOTE: If your contact info changes, this should be updated. We are the initial contact point, but many people change from us to someone physically closer to your home. Its always recommended that you ask your Veterinarian to scan for the microchip with each visit.

Once you take your puppy home you will need to activate the Trupanion 30 day free trial of insurance. If you choose to continue with the coverage please remember to do so before the 30 days expires.

House training can be so very tiring when you're this young.
