WEEK EIGHT

“It’s the Great Pumpkin

Charlie Brown!”

What Peanuts theme would be complete without a pumpkin patch photo?

The Peanuts have transitioned from the baby nursery to venturing outside. This is their first introduction to house training, learning about recall and realizing just how exciting it is to play in the outdoors. This is an important week as they puppies prepare to go home with their new families so we are focusing on house training, to sit and good puppy manners. These are such intelligent and sweet tempered puppies they have been learning quickly. The great outdoors has turned out to be their favourite moments and our memories of them.

ADOPTED !

Lucy is always loving and lively. She has a fun-loving and comical way about her with a winning spirit. Lucy is a very intelligent girl who learns quickly. She mastered the tunnel on day one! This little lady has great potential to learn many commands, tricks and agility. She is currently house training and she asks to be let out by ringing a bell. Lucy comes readily when we call and sits on command.

The little spray of silver along the bridge of her nose indicates that her coat will transform in a stunning silver over time.

Lucy has just the right amount of sparkle and combined with her willingness to please, she will be a welcomed addition to a loving family.

ADOPTED!

Peppermint Patty is as perky and playful as she is perfectly adorable. She favours her Australian shepherd heritage with her natural bob tail that wiggles her backside every time it wags. Patty is born for agility and family activities. She is a very intelligent, loving little girl with keen observation skills. She will long to be your partner in all your adventures.

ADOPTED !

Sally is the “sweetpea” of her siblings. Her sweet nature draws her everyone she meets to her. She is very intelligent and loves to learn almost as much as she loves praise. She enjoys engaging her siblings and visitors to play with her. Sally is very observant and she makes wonderful eye contact. This loving girl will be ready to take all her cues from you whether its learning a new skill, being eager to follow or knowing when its time to wind down for the day.

Snoopy (ADOPTED !) named Leonard. He is so happy that his tail never stops wagging, even in his sleep! H is now e is an out going and comical guy that likes being centre stage. He will be the light of his new family.

Charlie Brown (ADOPTED !) is a charming, cuddly , and calm little fellow with a heart of gold. He will love to walk along side you as much he will enjoy being in your lap. Charlie is an intelligent and sensible guy that is not only eager to please; he is enthusiastic about meeting new people.

the place for me !

WeeK SEVEN:

“Happiness is anyone and anything that’s loved by you.”

The Peanuts are learning to know what it means to live together and get along with their siblings while they develop important canine social skills during their last few weeks with us. They also learning their “puppy” manners as they interact with our family and new people. At this point, love over rules logic but they are working on it.

This week the Peanuts will be going on a big adventure to meet the staff a the Veterinary clinic. They will be receiving their first vaccinations, microchip and health exam. The car ride over is filled with excitement and backseat drivers, not to mention a few amused observers as we drive along. The Peanuts are now fully weaned from their Mother , “Bindi”. They are now eating three meals a day of softened puppy kibble. As you can imagine, it’s a race to the shiny side of the bowl every time.

Here are a few more photos of our Peanuts Gallery when were seven weeks old.

WeeK Six:

“Happiness is waking up, looking at the clock, and finding that you still have two hours left to sleep.”

~ Snoopy ~

The puppies sleeping through the night ! They are nearly weaned and they are eating softned kibble 3 times a day. Their kibble-full tummies mean they no longer need their mom to visit them for the 2 and 4 AM feedings. They are loving playing with each other and the toys. So far the wiffle balls and rope toys are huge favourites. There is always huge excitement whenever they have visitors. Sally and Snoopy are the first to ask for tummy rubs while Patty and Lucy perfer to find their places on your lap. Charlie is all about the hugs and enjoys being held and at just 5 pounds he fits in the crook of your arm.

WeeK five:

“ A dog doesn’t try to give you advice, or judge you; they just love you for the who you are. It’s nice to have someone who will just and sit and listen you. ”

~ Charlie Brown ~

The Peanuts are full of fun this week. They are awake and enjoy playing for longer moments that are filled with playing with each other, pretend herding with their mom and have loved meeting a few visitors. It’s always so sweet when they begin to make eye contact and start to observe the cues around them. They have already learned their daily schedule and let us know when its meal and play time. Of course, the humans can’t resist those puppy dog eyes so who is training whom?

Week four:

“There’s no sense in doing a lot of barking if you don’t really have anything to say.”

~ Snoopy ~

The Peanuts have started to voice their opinions with little barks. Its been so much fun watching their individual personalities emerge. This week the puppies are still nursing every few hours but they are starting to try softened kibble and to lap up water. For the most part, the water has been more for fun than for drinking. Who needs water when Mom has milk? The puppies are really taking to paper training which will make their transition to house training much easier.

Week Three:

“Happiness is a warm puppy.”

~ Charles Shultz ~

The Peanuts have discovered toys ! Their Aussie heritage is shining through as they already enjoy moving balls and rattles around just to herd them. Playtime includes their Mom ,Bindi who truly adores them. She will often remain with them for long periods to cuddle, and engage them in puppy play. They are all starting to come when they are called and to seek out a lap to cuddle in. The puppies are still exclusively nursing every three hours but it won’t be long until they can use their new teeth to try mushy kibbles. The colours and markings of each puppy are becoming more pronounced with each passing week all while their coats are becoming more wavy and fluffy.

WEEK TWO:

“ALL YOU NEED IS CONFIDENCE.”

~ Charlie Brown ~

Its been an exciting few days for the puppies ! Each of them have doubled their birth weights and gained those loveable baby rolls that only come from a devoted mother. Its been so delightful to watch them learn to quickly advance from crawling to walking a few little steps. It was so heartwarming when their eyes open and they start to learn about the world through new eyes. Their confidence with surely grow as their vision grows stronger as they do.
